In the Fishbrain feed, tap on the messaging icon in the top right to go to recent chats, and then tap on “+” button in the bottom right corner to start a new message.

 

You can choose to message someone privately, or you can create a new group by tapping "New Group" at the top of the screen. You can name your group, select a group photo avatar, and add more people to your group.
