Pro features are only available to anglers that have an active Fishbrain Pro membership. Once you have signed up for a Fishbrain Pro membership, you can access the following features:

Ads-free experience - Once subscribed to Fishbrain Pro, you will enjoy an ad-free Fishbrain experience right away, so you can focus on catching more fish.

Local catch reports - To check all catches logged around the area you are interested in, go to the “My area” tab and select a location. A detailed record of all related catches will appear.

As a Pro member, you can zoom in as close as one-mile radius to your area of interest! In the My area section, you can also filter the catches by water types and up to 30 species types.

Exact catch positions - You can also view the exact catch positions directly as pins on the Fishbrain Map. Orange and green symbols in the water indicate that a fish was caught in that location, while the two colors indicate how recent the catch is.

Orange: recent catches, posted in the last 14 days
Green: older catches, posted over 14 days ago

Lures recommendations - To find the best baits and lures to catch a specific fish species, go to the Map area and position yourself on the water that interests you. Drag on the catch menu from the bottom of your screen and tap on “Top Baits”. You will see the top baits used to catch each species in that water.

Customizable gear for your profile and catches - To add gear you cannot find in Fishbrain’s gear selection for your profile and catches, go to your Fishbrain profile and click on to “Gear”. Click on “Add more”, and “Upload” next to “Custom gear?”.

You can now upload a picture of the gear item (the best pictures have a plain white background and the item will fill the frame) and pick the category you want. Add the manufacturer and a product name, and other information such as color and weight. Once you’re done, you can save your new custom gear on your Profile.

Please note this Pro feature is currently only available on iOS devices.

BiteTime™ best times to fish - Our fishing forecast, called BiteTime, uses machine learning with data from millions of catches to help you predict what species you are most likely to catch when you go fishing. The forecast predictions are shown in one bar graph per species. The heights and colors of the bars indicate the predicted probability of your catch being the given species at the given time.

On the map, look for the body of water that interests you. Drag on the catch menu from the bottom of your screen and tap on “Forecast”. Click on the “BiteTime™” section. You can scroll up and down to see the forecast for each species and you can scroll right or left to see the forecast by time and date.

7-Day weather forecast - If you are interested in checking the weather for the next few days, go to the map, look for the body of water that interests you, and drag on the catch menu from the bottom of your screen. Please tap on “Forecast” and you will find the “Weather” section.

You can scroll up and down to see the weather, air pressure, sun and moon phase, and tides. Additionally, scroll right or left to see the weather by time and date.

River gauges - If you plan on river fishing, you can view river gauge readings from 10,000+ United States Geological Survey (USGS) monitoring stations. View up-to-date charts for river flow, gauge height, and water temperature right in the Fishbrain app, plus up to 60 days of historical readings. Simply tap a river gauge icon in the Fishbrain map to see all available information for that gauge.

To get precise readings from earlier and monitor river trends over time, drag your finger along the trendline in the chart. To understand how current conditions compare to average conditions at that station, compare the current reading to the historical average, shown as a dotted line in the chart.

Please note this Pro feature is currently only available on iOS devices.

Depth maps - The depth contours in Fishbrain are provided by C-Map through Fishbrain’s partnership with Navicco and they are crowdsourced from local fishing and boating communities, anglers located in the US and Canada have the option to switch between two depth maps providers including Navico C-Map Genesis Social and Navionics Sonarcharts.

You can find this feature by going to any water that interests you and tapping on the layers icon on right upper corner From here, make sure that you have selected the type of map that interests you- check the box for the Catch position, Fishing Waters and Depth contours to have them all activated on your map view.

These maps are updated continuously. Please note that areas with more boats are more likely to have better coverage.

Spot prediction - Fishing spot-prediction is Fishbrain’s proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm that finds fishing spots for you. By analyzing map structures for the areas where people catch fish, we can find similar water areas that have not been discovered yet.

Spot prediction indicates potentially good fishing spots by coloring specific water areas with yellow/orange spots. The more intense the color, the better the chances of catching fish there. While this is a helpful tool to find new fishing spots, it’s always important to make sure the spot is safe, accessible, and publicly available to fish in.

To enable this feature, go to the map and click on “Map Options”, the wheel icon on the right side of the map. Scroll down to “Spot Prediction” and enable it.

Detailed statistics - As a Fishbrain Pro member, you will be able to view statistics based on month, time of day, moon phase and water temperature based on the catches you’ve logged.

Go to your profile, and select “Statistics” to view statistics on your catch data. This is aggregated to help you understand what conditions may affect when you catch fish. Of course, the more catches you log the more data you will see, so don’t forget to fill in as much information as you can when logging a catch.

Also, to get the most out of your statistics, always log the exact catch location and make sure the time of the catch is correct. The data is taken into consideration whether your catches are logged as competitive or private.

Waypoints - Waypoints are pins that you can place on a map to remember significant events or locations. It could be where you spotted a big fish, lost a bait, where you can find shelter, or even where to park your car. Waypoints are always private by default, but can be shared if you choose.

To create a Waypoint, tap and hold down on the map where you want to add your waypoint. Your waypoint will then be dropped for you to add more information. To find more information about waypoints, tap here.

Private groups - Only Fishbrain Pro members can create private groups. Private groups can only be viewed by the users who are invited. To create a group, go to the main feed and tap on the ‘groups’ tab. Tap the blue button to create a group and make sure to select its privacy option to “Private” if you want to create this group for only your selected friends.

To find out more about Fishbrain groups, tap here.

Private notes on your catches - When logging catches, you can add a note that will only be visible for yourself when tapping on catch details.
