WebGL is a technology which is required for viewing the Fishbrain Map on a web browser. If you are trying to view the Fishbrain Map and you are seeing an error message saying "WebGL must be enabled in your browser in order to view the map", please check and update your browser by following the steps below.
How can I check if my browser supports WebGL?

If WebGL is not supported, please make sure that you have updated to the latest version of your browser. If the issue persists even after you have updated the browser, follow the instructions below depending on your browser:
How do I enable WebGL on my browser?
Safari
On Safari browsers, WebGL is usually enabled by default, but if it happens to be disabled, follow the steps:
- Click 'Safari' in the menu bar and choose 'Preferences.'
- Select the 'Websites' tab.
- Choose 'WebGL' from the left.
- If 'fishbrain.com' is listed, select 'Allow'; if not, choose 'Ask' or 'Allow' under 'When visiting other websites.'
- Restart Safari to apply.
Google Chrome
Follow the below steps if you are using a Google Chrome browser:
- Click the overflow menu (three dots) in the upper right corner and select 'Settings.'
- Scroll down and click 'Advanced'.
- Under 'System,' toggle 'Use hardware acceleration when available' to ON.
- Refresh or restart Chrome to apply the changes.
Firefox
Follow the below steps if you are using a Firefox browser:
- Open a Firefox browser page and enter 'about:config' in your URL bar.
- Search for 'webgl.enable-webgl2' and make sure this preference is set to 'true'. If it is set to false, click the reverse icon to set it to 'true'.
- Search for 'webgl-force-enabled' and make sure this preference is set to 'true'. If it is set to false, click the reverse icon to set it to 'true'.
- Search for 'webgl.disabled' and make sure this preference is set to 'false'. If it is is set to true, click the revere icon to set it to 'false'.
- Restart Firefox to apply the changes.
Microsoft Edge
